The Key Under The Mat: How to Guest Post Here

by Dresden on August 26, 2010

As many good friends do, we like to open our home to company on the weekends. We have chilled beverages at the ready, fresh baked bread and jam, and if we have had time the guest towels have been fluffed and put out for use. We love company!

Which is why we want you to come over and spend the weekend with us and let your hair down. Take off your shoes, turn off your cell phone, talk to us.

We want to provide the space for you to write the posts that you have always wanted to write. We want you to be our weekend guests here at Who Wants to Know.

Interested?

Send us a comment here and let us know what you want to write about or if you are open to an “assignment”.

Topics that are especially interesting to us: things at which you are an expert, how-to’s, reviews of museums or attractions in your city, movie reviews (rentals or at the movies), health, pop culture…. being broad here because we don’t want to go super specific and box anyone out of an idea.

If you have a blog think about that topic that you have always wanted to write about but it just doesn’t fit on your blog. Would it fit here?

We look forward to welcoming anyone that needs a weekend place. There is a row of rocking chairs reserved just for you.

Just a bit of an expert of teaching my deaf kid how to listen and speak using a cochlear implant, all the while navigating department store beauty counters with ease and grace :)

70s disaster movies and how to do New Orleans like a native, but not necessarily in that order. :)

I have a blog but it is not widely read so I’m not sure it counts as “active”. I would love to do a post though. I’d like to write about being a military spouse and how that affects our children and family, the bond I share with my sisters despite living far away from one another, or movie/television reviews.

Like I said on your blog. :) I could do “clicker training” your animal.. what it really is and how to start.

I’m awful good at cookery things — how about a post on making chicken stock (or two — rich vs. light), spaghetti sauce, roast chicken, or slightly fancier (but not much harder) stuff like tagines and canned green tomato preserves?

I can also write about cheap adventures in NYC. A trip to the Red Hook ballfields for tacos? A guide to the best bits of the Botanic Garden?

I garden a great deal, too, so there’s that, particularly as spring approaches.

I could do a post about places to go/things to do in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area of North Carolina. I can also write a artsy/craftsy post.

Another one with an active, although not widely read blog here. I would be happy to write about vegetarian/vegan dining in Las Vegas, as well as off-strip activities in the Vegas area.
